Frequently Asked Questions
What can individual therapy help with?
Individual therapy can help with mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, which can affect motivation at school or work, relationships with loved ones, sleep, and overall mood.
What therapeutic approach do you use?
I incorporate client-centered and evidence-based therapeutic interventions, focusing on building safety and therapeutic rapport alongside practical, applicable interventions.
How long does individual therapy take?
The length of therapy varies by person, depending on your goals, history, and the challenges you're working through. Some clients find relief in a few months, while others use therapy as an ongoing resource over time.
Do you offer online (telehealth) individual therapy?
Yes, I offer both in-person sessions (San Jose and Fremont, CA) and telehealth for individual therapy.
What happens in a typical first session?
I'll ask about your presenting concerns, history, and background, along with your relationships, strengths, and goals, to understand your current needs and what you're hoping to get out of therapy.
What is the cost of individual therapy, and do you take insurance?
My rate for a 1-hour session is $185. I am currently paneled with Lyra, Aetna, Optum, and Cigna. If you have different insurance, I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time are billed at the full session fee.
